An Analysis of Eszopiclone: Market Trends, Synthesis, and Mechanism

CHEM 261. During Organic Chemistry II, my semester research examined eszopiclone. Along with three classmates, our semester research project examined the synthesis, mechanism, and patent information of eszopiclone, marketed as Lunesta. I presented on market data as well as patent information pertaining to eszopliclone in the United States and the enantiomer, szopliclone that is sold in Europe.

We received an A grade for our class presentation on Lunesta and independent submissions.
